For the cultural explorers: Seoul and Paris

The city of Seoul is a study in contrasts: rich traditions and historic landmarks in the heart of a bustling, forward-thinking metropolis. Experience both the old and the new on a guided walking tour arranged by Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. You’ll enjoy special access to some of the city’s top attractions and sites, like Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village and the gallery-lined alleys of Insa-dong. To further immerse yourself in the city’s culture, don a hanbok – a traditional Korean garment worn during holidays and celebrations – for your tour.

Your cultural journey continues when you return to the Hotel. Chief Concierge Sojung Park suggests you unwind at the Spa with another Korean tradition: a visit to the Korean sauna, featuring cold, warm and hot baths as well as wet and dry sauna rooms. Afterwards, toast your experience at The Market Kitchen, where carefully preserved 600-year-old ruins are on display beneath a glass floor.

Alternatively, opt to escape the city. All eyes may be on the world-class athletes competing for the gold in Paris, but if you need a break from the action, set out from Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, for an exclusive visit to Maison Belle Époque, set in the heart of Champagne’s vineyards. Once the house of the founders of Perrier-Jouët, this private residence and UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the largest private collection of French art nouveau in Europe – as well as the oldest vintage champagne in the world. Explore works by Emile Gallé, Georges de Feure, Rodin and Toulouse Lautrec as you tour the historic venue, including a stop in the legendary Eden Cellar to taste the finest vintages of the house. Join Chef Sébastien Morellon for lunch in the estate’s gardens, then return to the Hotel for an exclusive dinner at the Michelin-starred L’Orangerie, paired with bubbles from the House of Perrier-Jouët.

If you’d like to extend your time in Champagne, you can opt to spend the night at Maison Belle Époque, an experience available exclusively to Four Seasons guests. After a gourmet dinner served with vintages from the cellar, make yourself comfortable in one of the home’s five meticulously restored bedrooms. The next day, take a stroll through the vineyard for a picnic among the vines before your return journey to the city.

For the romantics: Maui and Los Cabos

It’s hard to picture a more romantic getaway than Maui: sandy beaches, lush palms, fragrant plumeria and stunning sunsets over clear blue waters. It’s no surprise, then, that the island is one of the top honeymoon destinations for couples. Whether you’re seeking an intimate sanctuary for the two of you to hide away or the chance to make memories together on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is the ideal setting.

The Resort’s experts can craft a personalized itinerary for you and your loved one, including unique travel experiences like sunset sails, a private beach picnic or a helicopter tour of the island. For the ultimate day together, join a Resort chef on a helicopter ride to a local organic fruit farm for a tour and an exotic fruit tasting; then explore the famed town of Hana, where a cultural expert will guide you on a swim in the lava caves at Wai‘anapanapa’s Black Sand Beach or a hike to a waterfall deep within the bamboo forest. Afterwards, return to the Resort and savour a multi-course menu tailored to your tastes and served by your personal waiter in a secluded corner overlooking Wailea Beach.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to rekindle your romance, look no further than the undiscovered East Cape of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. “Our location on the East Cape of Los Cabos is picture-perfect for romance. It’s far removed from the busy ‘El Corridor’ area and surrounded by never-ending beach, mountains and sky – the perfect setting for meaningful connection,” says General Manager Borja Manchado at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas. “There’s a magical sense of discovery here. To share those moments with your person is to fall in love with them all over again.”

Embrace the spirit of discovery – and your inner child – at Camp Verano, the Resort’s summer camp for adults. The itinerary makes the most of the Resort’s picturesque setting: dive or snorkel Cabo Pulmo, which famed oceanographer Jacques Cousteau called “the aquarium of the world;” hike to a stunning vista for an above-the-clouds HIIT class; go off-roading through the desert dunes; or splash in a secret waterfall. After a day of adventure, return to the Resort for the Oasis Signature Massage, which combines energetic stones and local herbs to create a sense of stillness, followed by a private beachfront dinner.

For the eco-tourists: Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru and Naviva

The Maldives islands are stunning: pristine white-sand beaches, endless balmy sunshine, sparkling turquoise waters. That beauty extends below the waves, where you’ll discover an underwater kingdom filled with sea turtles, manta rays, vividly coloured fish and coral reefs. Help protect this UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, where a team of marine biologists at the Marine Discovery Centre lead conservation efforts.

Contribute to the cause by becoming a scientist for a day: Stop into the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre to help with turtle-monitoring and photo-ID projects, or join in on the pioneering Reefscapers program to help build coral reefs in the Resort’s lagoon. For a truly unforgettable experience, sign up for Manta on Call so you’ll be notified immediately whenever manta rays are spotted nearby. When they are, you can hop on a speedboat for an opportunity to swim with these giant, gentle creatures.

Since you’re never too young to care about the health of our oceans, scientifically minded teens and young adults can join the Resort’s new Trainee Marine Biologist Program for a deep dive into what it takes to pursue a conservation career. The program’s six modules combine educational sessions with hands-on activities like helping the team track dolphins in the waters around the island, using artificial intelligence to monitor coral reef restoration efforts, and supporting the on-site veterinarian providing life-saving care to injured sea turtles.

At Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita, México, every experience is designed with conservation and sustainability in mind. “We embrace sustainability not just as a practice, but as a core principle of our ethos,” says Resort Manager Eduardo Sampere. “We are deeply committed to environmental stewardship, which extends to the way we source and use our water.” The Resort uses hydropanel technology to extract clean, pollutant-free water from the air and, using the power of the sun, mineralize it for taste, producing enough premium-quality drinking water to meet all the Resort’s needs.

Other conservation measures can be found throughout the Resort, from specially designed roofs that collect and filter rainwater for irrigation to the careful design of Resort tents, buildings, and pathways to accommodate trees and animal habitats to preserve biodiversity. For a truly immersive, sustainable experience, head to the Spa for a serene soak in an ofuro tub, made from regionally sourced high-insulation cedar wood to capture and retain heat to conserve energy. This thermal soak is soothing to mind and body, promoting detoxification, elevating cardiovascular performance, fortifying the immune system, purifying the skin, and easing pain or stress.

For the adventure seekers: Sydney and Whistler

Take your travels to new heights in Sydney with an adrenaline-pumping 1,332-step walk up the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, accompanied by a guide from Four Seasons Hotel Sydney. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, escape to the Australian Outback and Uluru, the sacred heart of Australia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experts believe the massive sandstone monolith started forming around 550 million years ago; today, it stands 348 metres (1,142 feet) high. After your private jet flight to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, join a guide on a private walking tour of the site. If the timing is right, you might get to see the rock seem to glow red under the light of the sun from iron oxide in the sandstone.

Once the rush of festive season settles down, making time to reflect becomes a little easier. What’s in store for the year ahead? In Japan, bathing is considered a daily ritual meant to bring purification and pleasure. At Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, the best way to experience the custom is with some time in the Hotel’s ofuro, a hot bath and sauna. Steep in traditional Japanese sake – which contains rich amino acids to brighten and soften skin along with purifying, moisturizing and anti-ageing properties – or luxuriate in a milk bath made with natural hot spring water, organic green tea extracts and green tea seed oil for dewy skin.

Sky-high serenity in Tokyo

The fervent energy of Tokyo is keenly felt in the Otemachi district, the city’s buzzing financial centre. Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi offers an unexpectedly delightful place to collect your thoughts: your room’s freestanding bathtub. Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, the tub is perfectly positioned so you can take in the sprawling city views from the ultimate vantage point. Turn on the Bluetooth speaker and put on the Frequencies playlist – curated by Bellosound in collaboration with the Hotel’s Director of Spa and Wellness Faraaz Tanveer – and time your bath with the sunset to watch the Tokyo skyline glide from day into night.

Cityscapes in Philadelphia

Float above the clouds at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center, where deep soaking tubs set against floor-to-ceiling windows provide skyline views you won’t find anywhere else. The Hotel itself is set atop Philadelphia’s tallest tower – the Comcast Technology Center – meaning you can relax in the tub and go sightseeing at the same time.

Natural splendour in Tamarindo

Blurring the lines between indoors and out, each room at Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México, feels like you’re in your own private world. Wake up to the sound of waves crashing on the nearby beach before stepping into your free-standing oval tub to watch them roll in as you enjoy a soothing soak. A hammock waits for you just outside on your private terrace to further ease into the morning at your own pace.

No matter where you are in the world, taking a little time for yourself is always a good idea – and Four Seasons is here to help you make the most of it. Whether it’s turning your bathroom into your own private spa with a locally inspired bath ritual or drawing a bath for you just in time to see the city skyline light up as the sun goes down, these tubs at Four Seasons come not just with incredible views, but with personalized care and attention that makes a simple thing like a bath feel luxurious.

“I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke up that I was not happy,” author Ernest Hemingway once wrote. The legendary writer found inspiration for several of his works, including Green Hills of Africa, during a visit to Serengeti in 1933. Discover the magic of the savannah for yourself at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti: Lift off aboard a hot-air balloon to watch the plains come to life as the sun crests the horizon. Join a Maasai guide on a short nature hike to the Lodge’s kopje, where captivating views help clear your mind for a meditation session with the Lodge’s yogi. Spend a quiet day lounging by the infinity-edge pool, watching elephants gather at the nearby watering hole. Or help Discovery Centre researchers better understand the region’s wildlife. Did you know that every cheetah has its own distinctive pattern of spots? If you capture a photo of any of these big cats in the wild, the Lodge will help you send it to the Serengeti Cheetah Project. This national program uses guests’ images to identify individual cheetahs and record their movements around the Serengeti.

Warm Up to These Winter Adventures

As festive season approaches, do you start pining for an escape to sun, sand and surf – or for an epic excursion to play in the snow? Some of us embrace the chill, while others prefer to heat things up, but whatever type of destination you choose, the end of the year is peak season for gathering your loved ones, travelling to a home away from home, sharing cool adventures and making warm memories. Here, find our picks for the best winter trips, complete with expert tips from our Four Seasons teams.

DISCOVER MEANING IN BORA BORA

Play castaway in French Polynesia with an escape to your own private island paradise at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. Spot colourful fish in the crystal-clear lagoon from your overwater bungalow suite, and stargaze from your personal plunge pool.

Ready for adventure? Meet marine life at close range on a half-day shark and ray snorkel safari. Or, for another memorable underwater excursion, accompany one of the Resort’s resident WiseOceans marine biologists into the Lagoon Sanctuary.

“One of the most special and meaningful experiences guests can have with us is grafting and adopting coral in our Lagoon Sanctuary,” says Head Concierge Etienne Baldeschi. “You’ll learn about coral health and growth, work with branching corals – and then you can adopt one or more corals, which we’ll place on an underwater structure at the Resort. It’s a great way to commemorate an occasion, to memorialize someone or simply to give back to the environment.”

For a romantic dinner on the Resort’s Sunset Motu, an outrigger canoe will deliver you to a tiny private island just off the main beach. With your toes in the sand, you can admire one of Bora Bora’s legendary sunsets while sipping Champagne, then dine under the stars with entertainment from talented fire dancers.

FIND YOUR PERFECT CATCH IN NEVIS

On the golden shores of Pinney’s Beach, the recently renovated Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies, embodies laid-back luxury. Avid divers can mix in some adventure with the Dive and Dine experience: Don a wetsuit to join a Four Seasons chef and a local divemaster on a deep-sea culinary expedition.

“Catching your own spiny lobster with a lasso is a very local experience,” says Four Seasons Resort Nevis Guest Services Manager Mellissa Seabrookes. Sous-Chef Xavier Phillips describes the program as his ideal version of “fresh catch.” “It takes guests to a world beyond the waves, where they get to feel the rush of lassoing a Caribbean lobster for the first time,” he says. “It’s an exhilarating experience for both me, as a chef, and the guests.”

Back on shore, a beach barbecue is waiting, complete with cocktails. Learn the chef’s recipe for a special Caribbean-style sofrito marinade, made here with organic ingredients from the Resort’s herb garden. Then feast on lobster in a private beach cabana. Finally, listen to the wash of the waves as you relax with one of the Spa’s Ocean Breeze treatments.

TASTE THE TERRAIN IN JACKSON HOLE

If you’re looking for adventure, visit Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole, where you’re surrounded by rugged peaks, celebrated ski runs, and plenty of room to explore, thanks to the nearby Grand Teton National Park. Need gear? Head to the Ski Concierge, who can fit you for skis, schedule lessons, arrange lift tickets, and wax your skis and snowboard to match mountain conditions.

“Winter in Jackson Hole centres around the ski lifestyle – both on the slopes and off,” says Chef Concierge Taryn Shackleton. “Four Seasons offers direct access to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, giving our guests a seamless ski-in/ski-out experience. Our team also can arrange other adventures like dog sledding and snowmobiling.”

Take a day trip to Yellowstone National Park to see landmarks like Old Faithful and the Continental Divide – you might catch a glimpse of wildlife like elk, moose, wolves and bears. Or settle in for a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride: Get cosy under a warm blanket, sip hot cocoa and enjoy the scenery as you glide through the National Elk Refuge.

After a day out in the snow, warm up with a swim in the Resort’s year-round heated pool or kick up your boots and sip an inventive cocktail at The Handle Bar. For the ultimate après-ski experience, head to the Ascent Lounge for gourmet hot chocolate (with all the toppings including homemade marshmallows) by the fire and a glass of Champagne, served up in a winter wonderland.

GET UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL IN MAUI

Looking for warm temperatures? Make like a humpback whale and head to Maui. Every year between December and May, these beloved visitors flock to the island’s warm waters to calve and nurse their young. At Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, catch a glimpse of the creatures in action – whether from a kayak, an outrigger or a helicopter. Sometimes there’s even a sighting from the Resort’s Serenity Pool.

“Maui is the best place in Hawaii to whale watch,” says Chef Concierge Margaux Pfeiffer. “You can admire whales breaching and nursing their young from the shoreline or take a whale-watching tour to see them up close. Seeing these magical animals in real life is such a unique experience.” For an enhanced whale-watching experience, try a guided kayak tour, available on-site with Maui Undersea Adventures. Or get a chance for an up-close encounter by venturing out on a complimentary outrigger canoe. Whether or not you spot a whale, you’ll return to shore with a tremendous story, amazing images and lifelong memories.
